It is illustrated with, 1) a vignette of the American eagle in a halo of stars, clutching arrows and an olive branch, and draped with a banderole on which appears the motto: "Liberty & Equality", 2) half-length portraits of Johnson and Van Buren, 3) episodes in Johnson\'s military campaigns against the Indians during the War of 1812, including the Battle of the Horse Shoe, the Battle of the Thames, and "Col. Johnson charging."
