September 11 Twin Towers attacks. These impacts were made by two passenger planes hijacked by terrorists; American Airlines Flight 11 (red) and United Airlines Flight 175. Both were Boeing 767 aircraft that departed from Logan Airport, Boston, USA. They impacted the North Tower at 08:46 and South Tower at 09:03. The resulting debris trajectories are shown. The fires that broke out in the buildings caused them to collapse at 09:59 (South Tower) and 10:28 (North Tower). Many people evacuated safely, but 2763 people in the buildings and the surrounding area were killed.
