He is famous for the images of epinal which he composed since the Revolution and which he printed himself from 1800. Succeeding his father, he took in 1773 the direction of the "Factory of Pellerin" 3. From 1796, he expanded his activity and created the "Imagerie Pellerin". As early as 1800, he started a small business, a real imaginary industry, which later became known as Imagerie d\'epinal.
