5917916 Untitled, the Plaster Figure Seller\'s accident, 1800-20 (hand-coloured engraving) by Taylor, William Benjamin Sarsfield (1781-1850); 20.4x16.7 cm; Leeds Museums and Galleries (The Ernestine Henry Collection), UK; (add.info.: Scene outside a Glass and China shop: A man selling plaster busts and figurines has slipped and the tray of merchandise he carries on his head is falling onto the head of a chimney sweep. The sweep holds his hands up and has an expression of horror on his face, dropping his sack, short spade and bristle brush. The plaster seller\'s legs sweep up in the opposite direction, kicking a tray of pies out of the hands of a female pie seller. This is possibly a commentary on the overcrowding of London with itinerant street traders, a frequent source of contemporary remark and criticism, particularly as the man selling busts is trading right outside a glass and china shop, depriving the shop of custom. The sweep wears a black jacket and - unusually - full-length trousers and shoes, and wears a close-fitting black cap with a brass badge marking him out as an apprentice.); Leeds Museums and Galleries, UK.
