Hormonal regulation, mechanism of feedback inhibition and feedback activation of hormonal secretions. This diagram shows the mechanism of regulation of the secretion and action of hormones in the body. There are two regulatory mechanisms, feedback control. There is feedback inhibition represented by the minus sign on a red background. While feedback is represented by the plus sign on a green background. This hormonal feedback is the process by which circulating hormones act on the tissues of the glands that make them or that stimulate their production (endocrine system). Thus, the pituitary gland is able to measure the blood level of a hormone and, in return, to act on the gland responsible for the secretion of the hormone in question to adjust its production to the needs of the moment.
