"Popular Carriage" Exhibition -- The Country Station Horse Bus. In pre-motor days the Station Horse Bus gave important service when a town was some distance from the railway. This bus was built for Tenterden about 1900, and continued service until 1924. Following the success of their two historical exhibitions in Coronation Year, the British Transport Commission is opening a new exhibition at Euston Station, London, tomorrow, called "Popular Carriage". It traces the evolution of road and rail carriage design through two centuries by means of models and specimens of coaches, buses and railway carriages. April 21, 1954. (Photo by Topical Press).
