Automatic Record Of Bus Movements -- A bus on the 44 route passing under the electric wire at Victoria Square, London, S.W. showing the coil on top of the bus through which contact is made. Nine London buses are to be fitted with an electric device that will flash their positions on the streets direct to headquarters at Westminster. The object is to extend to all the London omnibus services the system already in operation with the tubes and tramways for supplying the London Transport Board's headquarters with a continuous record of the state of traffic on every route. Experiments are being made on the 44 (Victoria to Kings Cross) service. December 30, 1937. (Photo by Topical Press).
