Today at India House the Prodamation was read by the High Commissioner for the Dominion of India declaring it an Independent Republic in the frame work of the British Commonwealth of Nations. The Republic takes the name of Bharat and will be a Union of States. Several hundred Indians living in England or studying here attended and took part in the singing of the new National Anthem.
