Vaughan's Learning A Lot - Corporal Alex Steven, a fitter, has been granted special leave from the R.A.F. to be at Lake Windermere for the World water speed record bid by Mrs. Stella Hanning-Lee in her husbands boat, the White Hawk. He has found one very jet-conscious young chap there in seven-year-old Vaughan, Mr. and Mrs. Hanning-Lee's son, and here they are looking over the White Hawk's jet engine. October 20, 1952.
