Modern Mill Owner -- Rex Mayall, whose cotton mills produce fine colour shirtings and rayon textiles that are in demand all over the world, particularly in the United States and Canada, is a good example of the modern mill-owner, the man who has to work miracles. Thirty-nine years of age, tall, his speech hall-marked by his native Lancashire, he is the dynamic force in his mills. He believes in paying his men workers enough to support a family, believes that bright, cheerful clean working conditions attract the right type of mill girl, believes that good management does away with the majority of workers' complaints.
