New Belgian Rifle Put Through Test: The new Belgian .280 automatic rifle, together with bayonet and a single round of ammunition. The rifle was demonstrated at the Belgian Army Experimental station at Braschaet, near Antwerp, before representatives of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. Some of the results with the new rifle were: Carefully aimed fire, single rounds at 200 metres, position prone, gave a group of 7.9 inches by 4.10 inches. Carefully aimed fire (automatic), 200 metres, also in prone position, three magazines of 20 rounds fired in 47 seconds or 76 rounds per minute. September 7, 1951.
