Carrying with him the King's Charter conferring city status on the town of Nairobi, capital of Kenya colony, the Duke of Gloucester left London Airport in an aircraft of the King's Flight today (Saturday). He was accompanied by the Duchess of Gloucester. On their was Nairobi, where they have a heavy programme of public engagements to fulfill, the Duke and the Duchess will stay a night in Cairo and will call on King Farouk. March 11, 1950.
