Duke of Gloucester inspects ex-servicemen in training at Tec. College. The Duke of Gloucester spent more the during his inspection of ex-servicemen in training for trades at the technical college, Untimo, under the re-construction training scheme, in the sign writing section than in any other section. He watched the men working on both straight lettering jobs and on pictorial signs. He was particularly interested in the work of John Hudson who served in the army in New Guinea and there was badly wounded when he was blown up by a Jap. shell. With the Duke on the left is Mr. Riddell, director of technical training, NSE Dept, education. April 09, 1946. (Photo by F. J. Halmarick).
