S. divinorum is a perennial herb in the mint family native to certain areas of the Sierra Mazateca region of Oaxaca, Mexico. The plant grows in large groupings to well over 90 centimetres in height with characteristic hollow square stems and flowers. It is one of several hallucinogenic plants employed by the Mazatec Indians. Magnification: x240 when shortest axis printed at 25 millimetres.
