Composite Hubble Space Telescope (HST) and Very Large Telescope (VLT) image showing NGC 1850, a super star cluster located 16,000 light years from Earth in the constellation Dorado. The reddish filaments, made of clouds of hydrogen, around the cluster are believed to be the remnants of supernova explosions. Astronomers using the Multi Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE) instrument at the VLT telescope also discovered a black hole 11 times bigger than the Sun in the cluster. They discovered the black hole by looking at how its gravity influenced the motion of a five-solar-mass star orbiting it.
