Three of London's new architectural Icons - the Millennium footbridge, Tower 42 and the Cheesgrater. In the foreground, and running from there to Tate Modern on the other side of the river is the much-admired and futuristic Millennium Bridge. This is a futuristic steel suspension bridge for pedestrians crossing the River Thames in London, linking Bankside with the City of London. Opened in 1980, Tower 42 (background, left) is a 183 metres skyscraper in the City of London. It was originally built to house NatWest's international headquarters, but is now a more general-purpose banking and commercial centre. Background right is 122 Leadenhall Street, known whimiscially as the Cheesegrater. Yes, yet another boring skyscraper (2012) in London's global financial district.
