The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. It first rotated in 1999. Also known as the Millennium Wheel, this has become one of the Britain's most popular tourist attractions. Here we see it contrasting with carved - and rather fanciful - dolphins on the Victorian lanterns lining the Embankment.
