Large haematoma on the hip of a 71 year old male patient following a fall. Haemotoma is an accumulation of blood within the tissues that clots to form a solid swelling. Haemotoma is usually caused by an injury (as here), a clotting disorder of the blood or a disease of the blood vessels. The patient also has an old scar from a previous femoral fracture.
