Early Tea Pot with Chinese Scenes.
Meissen. Circa 1720. Painted decor Meissen or home painting; circa 1725.

B鰐tger porcelain; enriched in colours and gilt. Ball shape on low base with pipe handles and short nozzle. The flat arched lid has a cone finial; above a chain with handles attached. Along the shoulder is a gilt tendril border. On the sides of the pot above two red ring lines are islands; which are flanked by an earchquake. Upon which are shrubs with leaves and various flowers; mainly in iron red and heightened with gold. One central large figure of a Chinese couple with a document presented with a single Chinese censer. Below the nozzle is large gilt ornament; presumably monogrammed HI or CIC lig. Height 12;5cm. Condition B. Lid finial is metal addition.
No recognisable marks.
