This is a vase of painted mother-of-pearl with flowers of straw and a bird with real feathers. On the open frame the motif of the vase with flowers is repeated in the central medallion and on the support part of the outer legs. Pin made of polished glass (rhinestone) in silver setting. The decorations here are not only made of lovers and paintings; as with most fans of a balloon; but also of other; somewhat unusual materials. In the rectangular miniature in the middle of the leaf that is shown in trompe-l'oeuil with a list of gold-colored sequins and a painted bow; there is a vase of painted mother-of-pearl with flowers of straw and a bird with real feathers.
