Jiving Girls Carried From Hall In Middle Of Concert -- A dozen excited teen-age boys and girls who left their seats at a jazz concert in London's Empress Hall and started jiving in front of the bandstand were pushed from the concert. Six thousands people in the audience saw two girls carried out by commissioners. Shouts came when Vic Lewis's concert orchestra started playing "Concerto to end all concertos." Later a dozen couples left the back of the hall and started jiving. Some ran to the front. Commissionaires hustled some out. Others were dragged on carried. An official said. "It was serious. Dancing is not allowed on a Sunday. It was just a concert." April 17, 1950. (Photo by Daily Mirror).
