Outward Bound -- Her sails barely drawing in the light air the 95-feet brigantine Yankee heads to sea from this old fishing port today at start of a leisurely 40,000-mile cruise around the world. Skippered by Irving Johnson the steel-hulled former German pilot boat has made two previous world cruises. Mrs. Johnson and their two sons plus a doctor, cook, mate and 16 young people including four girls make up the ship's company. Yankee is due to return here May 1, 1955. November 01, 1953.
