British Destroyer transferred To Indian Navy -- Admiral Sir Henry Moore inspects the Indian guard of honour before the ceremony. The transforring of the British destroyer H.M.S. "Redoubt" to the Government of India took place at Chatham Dockyard. The ship was handed over by Admiral Sir Henry Moore, C.-in-C. The Nore, on behalf of the Board of Admiralty, and the High Commissioner for India, Mr. Krishna Menon accepted the vessel on behalf of his Government. H.M.S. "Redoubt" played a leading part in the naval operations of the 11th Destroyer Foltilla in the Far East. The ship has been re-named H.M.I.S. "Ranjit". July 4, 1949.
