Hubble Space Telescope (HST) image of the early stages of collision between galaxies NGC 2292 and NGC 2293. The galaxies are located 120 million light-years away in the constellation Canis Major and resemble a 'pumpkin'. The glowing eyes of the pumpkin are the star-filled cores of each galaxy containing supermassive black holes. An arm of newly forming stars give the 'pumpkin' a smirk.
