LARGE PORCELAIN FIGURINE OF A GREAT MACAW DECENDING A TREE.
Meissen. 1978. Model J.J. Kaendler.

Porcelain; white. 'Raven of native Indian type' climbing down a tree trunk. Kaendler models a perfect moment
in time; depicting the large parrot in a typical; natural pose. Beginning from the tip of
the beak; its body winds helically up to the ends of the high stretched tail feathers. The
curve of the slightly opened wings as well as the course of the vividly sculptured
feathers support this effect; making the figurine a piece of art that invites attention
from each angle. Height 107.5cm.
Swords mark with 4 grinds; mark for white porcelain; 76009; porcelain former's no. 149; year mark for 1978. Condition C.
