Meissen. 18th century. Models J.J. Kaendler; 1745-1746.

Porcelain; enriched in colours and gold. The allegory of Asia is sitting on a camel in an oriental robe with headdress. Asia is
depicted as an Indian woman; sitting on crocodile with feather ornaments. In their hands
further attributes of the continent to be represented. Height 16.5cm/19.5cm.
Swords mark. Condition C.

The Taxa Kaendler states:
"4. Eine gro遝 Grouppe Wie ein Frauen Zimmer auf einem Cameel sietzet und ein Theil der
Welt Asien Vorstellet; im Modell auf geh鰎ige Arth zershcnitten und zum abformen t點htig
gemacht." (4. A large group like a wench seated on a camel presenting a piece of Asia; the

"4. Eine Grouppe Welche das Theil der Welt Americam Wie ein Frauen Zimmer auf einem
Crocodill sietzet Corrigiret; und solches Modell so dann auf erforderliche Weise

America such as a wench seated on a crocodile correcting; and such model then separated
