Tuscany; city of Prato: "Monument of the fallen ones of Prato" (Italian: Monumento ai Caduti di Prato); 1934 realized by sculptor; fascist politician and art critic Antonio Maraini (1886 - 1963); The 3 m high sculpture is made of white marble from Carrara. It was inaugurated on 22nd of May 1934 by the Italian King who at the same day also opened the new train station of Prato. The monument is also called "L`Eroismo che conforta il Dovere" ("Heroism which comforts or encourages the Must"). It is located at the Castle of the Emperor (Castello dell`Imperatore) of Prato. It is dedicated to the victims of the Great War (World War I).
