Tuscany; city of Grosseto: Palazzo Aldobrandeschi (Aldobrandeschi Palace); built 1900 - 1903 in Gothic Revival style; The palace is seat of the government of the province of Grosseto. Architect was Lorenzo Porciatti (1864 - 1928). To the left; there is the statue of Grand Duke Leopold II of Tuscany. Called "Canapone" and built by sculptor Luigi Magi; it was erected here 1846 to honor the attempts of Leopold II to fight malaria in the Maremma area.
