The palace was extremely extended due to the marriage of Niccol?III Orsini (1442 - 1510); around 1465. In 1604; the Orsini gave the palace to the Medici. In 1777; it was given to the bishops of Sovana. Today; it houses two museums. Most impressive is the "Sala del Zodiaco"; the "Zodiac Hall" (today ticket office); with frescoes of Fiano Romano; realized 1493.
