1889 photograph - RMS Teutonic - from an album of images relating to the launch of the vessel, which was built by Harland and Wolff in Belfast, for the White Star Line - later to achieve notoriety as the owner of the Titanic. The album shows interiors of the ship, member of the crew, trial cruises, including a visit onboard by the German Kaiser and Prince of Wales, as well as many images of other visitors. This image shows one of the notable guests, the British statesman Joseph Chamberlain (1836-1914), pictured with his third wife Mary Endicott Chamberlain (later Carnegie) (1864-1957).
