Owakudani Valley, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. This is an area around a crater created during the last eruption of the Mount Hakone volcano, 3000 years ago. Today, much of the area is an active volcanic zone where sulphurous fumes from numerous vents, hot springs and hot water rivers can be experienced.
