Mitochondria are cell organelles that oxidise sugars and fats to produce energy for the cell. The reactions that produced energy occur on a part of the inner membrane with invaginations called cristae. Cristae junctions connect the cristae to the inner boundary membrane of the inner membrane. This Mic60-Mic19 complex controls cristae junction architecture and function.
