These bacteria are very common in the tonsils, and are often seen by a pathologist examining surgically removed tonsils. There are also scattered inflammatory cells (small blue dots) around the bacterial colony. Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 200x when printed at 10 cm.
