Composite satellite radar images of Mauna Loa, Hawaii, USA, between the 16th November 2022 until the 2nd December 2022. On the 27th November 2022, the volcano began erupting for the first time since 1984. This image shows areas of surface change caused by lava flow activity in the summit region of Moku'aweoweo. The blue areas indicate areas of major change where the lava has flowed through. Lava from fissure 3 flowed more than 10 kilometres, cutting off the main road to Mauna Loa Observatory. Data acquired from the COSMO-SlyMed constellation of radar satellites.
