Light micrograph of white adipose tissue, or fat, stained with haematoxylin and eosin. Adipocytes (fat cells) contain a large lipid droplet that appears empty in the micrograph, surrounded by a thin layer of cytoplasm. Among them, they are thin connective tissue septa with blood vessels.
