Reed bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus), a passerine bird and member of the Emberizidae family. A common bird of reedbeds and occasionally gardens, the reed bunting feeds mainly on seeds. Breeding occurs between April and August. Females lay 4-5 olive grey eggs in a nest built of twigs. It is found throughout Europe and the Palearctic ecozone. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in April.
