Mallow skipper (Carcharodus alceae) butterfly, a member of the Hesperiidae family. Mallow Skippers are usually on the wing between June and August. The larvae host plants include a wide range of grasses. This species is found throughout Western Europe and Asia, although not in the UK, and inhabits dry warm and stony areas. Photographed in Hercig-Novi, Montenegro, in August.
