Food Gift From Australian Cricket Board Of Control -- (Left to Right):- Mr. Johnson, Don Bradman, and Mr. Strachey discussing the gift. The Australian Cricket Team who have just arrived in Britain brought with them a gift of food from the Australian Cricket Board of Control for free distribution in this country. The gift consists of 200 cases each containing 48-12 oz. tins of meat and the Board hopes that this gift will help to offset the foodstuffs eaten by the Australian Team during their stay in Britain. This gift is further evidence of the great goodwill being shown to us by the people of Australia. Since the beginning of 1946 they have sent us, for free distribution, nearly 660,000 cases of food, approximately 17,000 tons, and further cases are on the way. April 26, 1948.
