Preston Sturges. Where Did You Get That Hat? - That's what Barbara Stanwyck apparently is asking Director Preston Sturges on the set where he is directing her and Henry Fonda in "The Lady Eve." Strange hats are not unusual for Sturges because the Paramount director-writer has a fad for queer headwear. He says his unusual hats make it easy for others to find the director when they have questions to ask. This hat was made for him by the wardrobe man, who fashioned it out of two hats.
