The Artemis II mission, scheduled for launch in 2024, will venture around the Moon in the first crewed Moon mission in over 50 years. It will be the first crewed flight test of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion spacecraft, building upon the successful uncrewed Artemis I mission completed in December 2022. Artemis II will set the stage for the first woman and first Black astronaut on the Moon, inspiring the next generation of explorers and paving the way for future long-term missions to the lunar surface.
