Light micrograph of prostate cancer cells forming cribriform (sieve-like) structures. The prostate cancer cells have round nuclei (dark blue circles) and pink cytoplasm (pink areas around the nuclei). The cribriform pattern of growth of prostate cancer cells is characterised by the many circular or oval white spaces seen here, around which the prostate cancer cells are arranged. This pattern of growth is associated with more aggressive behaviour of the prostate cancer. Haematoxylin and eosin stained section. Magnification: x200 when printed at 10cm wide.
