Exhibit on the Manhattan Project at the Bradbury Science Museum, Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico, USA. The Los Alamos National Laboratory was the site of the development of the world's first atomic bomb as part of the Manhattan Project. The bomb was detonated by the US Army on 16th July 1945. This exhibit includes likenesses (white) of the project's head, Major General Leslie Groves (1896-1970, left) and its chief scientist Robert Oppenheimer (1904-1967, right).
