San Francisco, California circa 1910, Market Street in San Francisco, with the Call Building at left. Designed by noted local architects James and Merritt Reid along with bridge engineer Charles Strobe, the structure survived the 1906 earthquake. Eighteen stories tall, it was San Francisco's first sksyscraper and the tallest building west of Chicago.
