The truce between Richard I and Saladin at the end of the Third Crusade, 1192. The terms provided for the destruction of Ascalon's fortifications, allowed unarmed Christian pilgrims and merchants access to Jerusalem, and initiated a three-year truce, Richard departed the Holy Land on 2 October.
