President Gustaf Adolf Reuterholm opens the Armfeltska letters at Stockholm Palace in 1794, (late 18th-early 19th century). The Armfelt Conspiracy of 1793 was a plot to depose the de jure regent Duke Charles and the de facto regent Gustaf Adolf Reuterholm (1756-1813), leaders of the regency government of Gustav IV Adolf of Sweden, and replace them with Gustaf Mauritz Armfelt, the favorite of the kings father Gustav III of Sweden.
