Light micrograph of a haematoxylin and eosin-stained section of a gallbladder with intracholecystic papillary neoplasm (ICPN). This is the surface of the tumour, which forms papillary (finger-like) and polypoid projections. ICPN is a macroscopic, non-invasive, papillary or polypoid epithelial tumour growing into the lumen of the gallbladder. It is considered premalignant and carries the risk of developing into invasive carcinoma.
