The Geminid meteor shower of 2022, showing two bright Geminids leaving yellowish ion trails or "smoke" trains in their wake. The two meteors appeared about 45 minutes apart but are blended together here. Both emanate from the radiant point in Gemini at left, above the stars Castor and Pollux. Orion is at lower right. Mars in Taurus is at top, to the left of Aldebaran and the Hyades star cluster.
