White-backed vultures (Gyps africanus). The bird gets its name from the white feathers on its back, which contrasts with its brown head, black beak and wings that are also a mix of white and brown. In October 2015, the white-backed vulture was classified as critically endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species. Photographed in Chobe National Park, Botswana.
