Azulejos de Veneguera, or Rainbow Rocks, a volcanic rock formation in Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. The green colour is a result of chemical reactions that occurred as the lava that formed the island cooled. Copper in the lava crystallised as it cooled, and underwent oxidation to form copper oxide, which gives the rock its green hue.
