The Double Bubble is part of a much larger complex of gas and dust called DEM L 106, the wispy filaments of which fill the field of view. This complex is located in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of our Milky Way that lies around 160,000 light years from Earth in the constellation Dorado.
